Title: Camera Support Technician
Location: Mountain View, CA / Onsite
Duration: long-term Contract
We are seeking a detail-oriented Hardware Systems & Imaging Technician to manage the procurement, installation, and optimization of high-performance desktop computers and industrial camera systems.
This role bridges IT hardware procurement with specialized machine vision engineering, ensuring systems are deployed, configured, and physically installed to meet precise imaging requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Desktop Procurement & Hardware Upgrades:
- Request, procure, and set up high-performance workstations.
- Install and verify the performance of specialized GPUs for imaging tasks.
- Install dedicated Ethernet cards (NICs) for industrial camera connectivity.
- Imaging System Setup & Configuration:
- Configure workstations for machine vision, including securing camera drivers.
- Inventory, check, and test cameras, lenses, and cabling to ensure optimal functionality.
- Physical Camera Installation & Calibration:
- Physically mount cameras in designated locations based on engineering plans.
- Perform precise Focus, Field of View (FoV), and Exposure adjustments.
- Run and manage all camera-related cabling.
- Facilities Coordination:
- Install desktop holder brackets and necessary structural supports for cameras within the facility.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in IT hardware assembly (GPU, PCIe card installation).
- Experience with machine vision cameras and cabling
- Ability to work with hand tools for hardware mounting and cable management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware/software connectivity.

- Upgrade and troubleshoot high‑performance workstations Think IT hardware technician, not general IT helpdesk.
2. Experience with Cameras (Very Important)
This role is camera-focused. They want someone who:
- Has worked with industrial / machine vision cameras
- Knows camera cabling (Ethernet, PoE, camera links, etc.)
- Can install, test, and replace cameras This is beyond normal webcams—industrial imaging systems.
3. Physical Installation & Mounting Skills
The customer wants a person who:
- Can physically mount cameras on walls, rigs, or frames
- Uses hand tools (drills, brackets, mounts)
- Manages neat cabling and routing This is a technician who is comfortable with tools and physical work.
4. Basic Optical & Imaging Understanding
They expect practical knowledge of:
- Focus
- Field of View (FoV)
- Exposure
- Basic lens and camera adjustments Not deep theory, but real-world calibration experience.
5. Troubleshooting Mindset
They want someone who can:
- Diagnose why a camera is not detected
- Fix hardware/software connectivity issues
Understand if an issue is GPU, NIC, driver, cable, or camera Strong problem‑solver, not just installer
