Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated CADD Drafter / Project Coordinator to support the design and execution of physical security and low-voltage projects. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical drafting and hands-on project coordination in a fast-paced integrator environment.

You’ll work closely with project managers, field technicians, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are accurate, organized, and delivered on time.



Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting (CADD)

  • Produce and update drawings for:
  • Access control (readers, panels, door hardware)
  • CCTV/video surveillance systems
  • Intrusion detection systems
  • Structured cabling (copper/fiber pathways)
  • Create floor plans, device layouts, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Incorporate field markups, redlines, and real-time changes into drawings quickly
  • Perform device counts, labeling, and basic bill of materials (BOM) support
  • Generate as-built drawings for project closeout
  • Coordinate drawings with customer plans, GC drawings, and other trades
  • Ensure designs align with field conditions and installation practices (not just theory)

Project Coordination

  • Support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Manage and organize:
  • Submittals and approvals
  • RFIs and change orders
  • Closeout documentation (O&M manuals, as-builts)
  • Coordinate material ordering, staging, and delivery with vendors and warehouse
  • Communicate daily/weekly updates with project managers and field teams
  • Help resolve jobsite issues (missing materials, design conflicts, etc.)
  • Assist with project billing milestones and documentation for invoicing


Field & Operational Support

  • Review site conditions, photos, and markups to ensure drawing accuracy
  • Occasionally visit job sites for verification, measurements, and coordination
  • Work closely with project managers and technicians to align drawings with real-world installation
  • Assist with commissioning prep and punch list tracking


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (~3-5 years experience)
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage systems:
  • Access control, CCTV, intrusion, and cabling
  • Ability to read construction drawings and adapt them to field conditions
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple active jobs
  • Clear, direct communication style (field + office coordination)
  • Self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)


Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency in Revit (~3-5 years experience)
  • 3-5 years experience working for a security integrator, electrical contractor, or low-voltage company
  • Familiarity with access control & video platforms like C-Cure 9000, Access It!, Acre Access Control / Feenics, LenelS2, Genetec, ExacqVision, etc.  
  • Understanding of installation practices (conduit routing, device mounting, cable pathways)
  • Experience with BOMs, material ordering, and vendor coordination
  • Knowledge of basic cabling standards and codes (BICSI/NEC)
