What You’ll Do:
- Apply computational methods to accelerate early-stage drug discovery, focusing on rapid hit expansion and molecular/chemical space exploration.
- Collaborate with a Computer Aided Drug Discovery (CADD) scientist and participate in multidisciplinary R&D teams.
- Prepare and deliver a final presentation to showcase your research findings.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year PhD student in Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modeling, Bioinformatics, Medicinal Chemistry, Structural biology, or related disciplines.
- Experience or coursework in Molecular Modeling, Computational Chemistry, or Computer-Aided Drug Discovery (CADD).
- Hands-on experience with ligand enumeration, docking, molecular dynamics, virtual screening, free energy calculations (FEP), Structure Activity Relationship (SAR), or related computational techniques.
- Previous internship or research experience in CADD strongly preferred.
- Experience in scientific programming such as Python, R, bash, etc. preferred
- Understanding of structure-based drug design and protein-ligand interactions is required
- Strong organizational, time management, and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse scientific team.
- Ability to complete required Safety & Environmental Training and commit to full-time (40 hours/week) during the internship.
