CAD Technician - Piping

WSP India is currently seeking a CAD Technician -Piping for CA ERI team located in Bengaluru for helping to contribute towards its continuing success.   

• This role is for a CAD technician - Piping to contribute on Power, Mining Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Water treatment projects deliverables in compliance with WSP CAD standards. 
• Responsible for Preparation of drawings including conceptual sketches and detailed construction drawings using CADWorx, Autodesk Plant 3D, SP3D software (pipe models and isometrics) with quality and accuracy.
• Familiar with the relevant International Standards, and able to learn and understand client’s standards and specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD or Piping ISO drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.
• The ability to create and modify detailed engineering drawings using 2D AutoCAD based on information supplied by engineers and designers.
• Create and Draft PFDs, PIDs, work on equipment and piping 3D model and develop detail design drawings incorporating vendor 2D and 3D drawings for Power projects.
• Develop overall piping plans, general layouts, isometrics, plot plans, and other project specific details. Including the application Site Topographical Survey drawings and data
• Liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate 3D Model design processes and production.
• Reviewing drawings to ensure compliance with Client drafting standards.
• Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Coordinating with Canadian lead office as per project requirement.
• Responsible for CAD tasks as directed by the CAD Manager and Engineer.
• Responsible for Material and Quantity take off coordination.
• Ensure drawings are issued and filed in an appropriate manner with following WSP QA process. 
• Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager.
• Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
• Develop expertise and stay abreast of developments in Drafting skills.
• Support the company’s approach to sustainability.
• Be willing to learn and be polyvalent.
• Autodesk Desktop Connector would be an asset.

We anticipate you will have an interest in the following areas: 

• To contribute to growing Power, Mining Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Water treatment Team with CAD related works using CADWorx Plant Professional, Autodesk Plant 3D, SP3D.
• You will also be computer literate with a reasonable proficiency in AutoCAD, MS office suite.
• As well as having a thirst for knowledge, cultural awareness, an open mind and good English communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team. 
• Coordinating his/her work with other members of the Team.
• Work competently with minimal supervision or on an individual basis.

 Desired skills

• Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 5-8 year of experience in a consulting firm in complementary industries like Power, oil & gas, Mining using CADWorx Plant Professional, AutoCAD Plant 3D, SP3D, Navisworks, SPR, BIM 360 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Ability to work well as part of a team or on an individual basis.
