CAD Operator / Detailer

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the measuring and detailing of fabrication and installation drawings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop shop drawings for fabrication & installation use using CADD software.
• Work and communicate with shop, office, installation & sales personnel.
• Create and/or modify templates for fabrication.
• Enhance and/or modify measurer’s drawings & templates for fabrication & installation.
• Field measurements of as-built conditions.
• Must have the ability to perform the essential functions in the working conditions / environment described below.

EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Development of shop drawings for mechanically fastened stone cladding.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum four years’ experience and/or training in stone detailing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the stone and marble industry a must.
• Familiar with industry standards and details.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

Typically, will spend the majority of time in an office environment with comfortable temperatures and a normal noise level. May require lifting up to 25 lbs., requires dexterity and eye and hand coordination to operate office machines such as computers, copiers, and telephone. Will travel to job sites and meetings.
Field conditions include all types of weather conditions when checking the work outside. Physical requirements require sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, climbing (stairs and ladders).

WORK SCHEDULE:

Eight (8) hour workdays Monday through Friday of each week with nights and weekends occasionally required.
