Job Title: Drafter / CAD Operator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter / CAD Operator to collaborate with the Facilities and Engineering team in creating, updating, and revising Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing drawings typical of pharmaceutical facilities. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of GMP environments and experience working within regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, modify, and maintain Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Interpret engineer-provided redlines, sketches, and markups into accurate, high-quality CAD drawings.
  • Conduct field walk-downs as needed to confirm drawing accuracy.
  • Implement updates to ensure drawings comply with pharmaceutical facility requirements, including cleanroom classifications, utility standards, and equipment layout needs.
  • Coordinate drawing revisions with engineering, construction, and validation teams.
  • Maintain drawing version control and documentation logs in accordance with GMP practices.
  • Support the creation of as-built documentation post-installation from construction documents.
  • Collaborate with facilities and engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, process, architectural) to resolve design or coordination issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Proven experience in AutoCAD.
  • CAD experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; proficiency in AutoCAD 3D is a plus.
  • Familiarity with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems used in pharmaceutical facilities (HVAC, clean utilities, electrical distribution, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of GMP and GDP requirements and documentation controls.
  • Working knowledge of the MS Office suite of software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and PDF software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Revit or other BIM platforms.
  • Exposure to process piping or clean utility drafting (WFI, clean steam, compressed air, etc.).
  • Experience supporting construction or installation projects.
  • Gowning experience (full body suits, masks/goggles, makeup must be removed).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
