We have partnered with a specialty chemicals company that is one of the leading suppliers to the semiconductor fabrication-, circuit board assembly-, and packaging industries.


As they continue to invest in their supply chain capabilities, they are looking to add a Buyer/Planner to support a complex manufacturing environment with high-value raw materials. This role is on-site, playing a critical part in ensuring uninterrupted production through effective MRP execution, supplier coordination and inventory management.


Position Description:

  • Execute purchasing and planning activities using MRP, including PO creation and management.
  • Ensure continuous material availability to support production and prevent downtime.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, safety stock, and demand signals to balance supply and working capital.
  • Track supplier performance, including on-time delivery (OTD), and maintain supplier scorecards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm orders, resolve delays, and manage lead times.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and item master data within ERP systems.
  • Partner cross-functionally with production, sourcing, quality, and logistics teams to align priorities.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, particularly around process gaps and inefficiencies.
  • Protect the financial performance of the strategic business unit by identifying potential supply chain issues.


Background Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or STEM discipline).
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with MRP-driven purchasing (JD Edwards or similar ERP required).
  • Experience managing raw materials (ideally chemicals or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving processes and priorities.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.


Compensation Plan:

  • $78,000 – 95,000 + bonus
  • Full benefit package including medical, dental and 401(k).
