SUMMARY /BASIC FUNCTIONS:
To Provide support to Grupo Carso with Procurement and Logistic at the best market conditions obtained.
- Make sure we get the best possible conditions for all Pos placed.
- Participate in negotiations for key components with key suppliers, emphasizing quantities, annual volume, delivery terms, lead times.
- Look, develop alternate suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and work towards continuous improvement.
- Guarantee flow of material to customer´s base.
- Participate in the improvement of processes.
- Use quality tools to improve processes in department.
- Participate in corrective action teams in the elimination of non-conformances.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in the most important processes in order to reinforce strengths and overcome weaknesses.
- Analyze needs and requirements for the different work processes.
- Define department and individual goals.
- Review processes and assure that all non-value added activities are eliminated.
- Set-up and monitor control points that assure department is meeting customer requirements.
- Review strategies for key components.
- Support Logistic & Quality Coordinator Europe in special cases by negotiating with the management of the supplier.
- Submit / Review written or verbal requests for quotation to vendors.
- Negotiate prices with vendors, emphasizing quantities, annual volume, and alternate F.O.B. points.
- Oversee expeditor – purchasing assistant responsibilities
- Prepare and submit to Accounting Department documentation necessary to generate invoices, debits or credits.
- Support Traffic Manager with shipping discrepancies as requested.
- Coordinate and facilitate return or sell of rejected and obsolete material.
- Checking of system information (prices, lead times etc.) on a regular basis.
