The Business Analyst position is responsible for Student Financial Aid and Scholarships Office evaluating, testing, implementing, training, documenting, and maintaining the PeopleSoft Campus Solution system (CSS). This includes the updating of system setup tables, gathering and monitoring data, testing of business system processing, and leading system maintenance and upgrade projects. This position will also work with staff to review, design, and document improvements to internal business processes, both CSS and non-CSS related. The Business Analyst will work as a liaison to other offices on campus regarding system processing. This position is responsible for oversight of the campus scholarship management system (Blackbaud Award Management). The Business Analyst will also be responsible for developing financial aid reports from CSS, the campus data warehouse, and other systems.
- Develops project plans including scope, scheduling and issue tracking components
- Identify resources needed to complete project effort on time

- Develop training materials and present training sessions for SFA staff
- System support for SFA related to the CSS ERP system as well as internally developed information systems
- Perform system configuration in the CSS system related to the Financial Aid module
- Design and execute test plans and scripts for system testing duties related to upgrades and bundle testing
- Investigate and identify technical solutions to meet identified business processing needs
- Work in role of liaison with Information Technology services related to system development efforts
- Represent SFA in CSS system related committees and develop relationships with other CSS user offices
- Problem solve day to day processing issues
- Document business processes and procedures
- Reviews business practices and processes as it relates to the system, suggest changes for increased efficiency/effectiveness
- Support of reporting and data analysis needs
- Receive requests for and build reports via query tools to satisfy data requests from SFA staff and management as well other BGSU offices and outside entities
- Assist with the development of complex reports to support strategic decision making. Including combining data from multiple systems and providing data broken down in various ways to support different users and purposes
- Work with the ITS reporting team to develop executive reports for the Web Reporting Library from the data warehouse
- Provide support for office functions such as student aid packaging and counseling
- Attend applicable meetings, training and conferences related to the responsibilities of the position
- Other duties as assigned
- Administration and support of the campus scholarship management system (Blackbaud Award Management). Includes supporting automated data transfers to and from the system, creating data download profiles, and reporting on opportunities (scholarships), applications, and student activity.
