Company Description
Cohen Business Law Group, A Professional Corporation, is a California business, corporate, intellectual property, and internet law firm with offices in Los Angeles and the South Bay. The firm represents entrepreneurs, closely held companies, online businesses, technology companies, and established business clients in a broad range of transactional, litigation, and advisory matters.
We are a small, high-quality practice that emphasizes careful legal analysis, strong writing, practical business judgment, and personal attention to each client. Our matters often involve business disputes, contract issues, corporate transactions, intellectual property rights, internet law, online business practices, and strategic legal counseling. We are looking for an attorney who can take ownership of matters, communicate effectively with clients, and produce excellent work without the bureaucracy of a large firm.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business, Internet Law, and Litigation Senior Associate Attorney based in Los Angeles (UCLA Adjacent), California. The attorney will work directly with the firm’s managing attorney, other Sr. Counsel and clients on a mix of business litigation, transactional, corporate, intellectual property, and internet law matters.
Responsibilities will include law and motion practice, court appearances, and drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, discovery, contracts, corporate documents, demand letters, settlement agreements, and client advisories. The attorney will also manage litigation deadlines and case strategy, conduct legal research and analysis, handle client communications, negotiate with opposing counsel and business counterparties, and help clients evaluate legal risk in practical business terms. The position also offers significant trial opportunities for an attorney seeking meaningful hands-on litigation experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, careful thinker, and self-directed attorney who enjoys both litigation and business advisory work and is comfortable working in a smaller firm environment where quality, judgment, and responsiveness matter.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a Juris Doctor degree and an active California bar license in good standing.
Strong candidates will have meaningful experience in business litigation, contract disputes, corporate or transactional matters, intellectual property, internet law, privacy, e-commerce, technology, or related business law issues.
The position requires excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and communication skills; sound judgment; strong attention to detail; the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities; and the ability to communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and team members.
Experience drafting motions, discovery, contracts, settlement documents, corporate documents, and client-facing legal analysis is strongly preferred.
Compensation
The expected starting salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, demonstrated ability, and fit with the firm’s practice needs.
