Schneider Electric has a hybrid opportunity for a Business Finance Director in one of the following hub locations:  Dallas, TX; Nashville, TN or Boston, MA

 

Join our dynamic finance team as a Business Finance Director and play a pivotal role in shaping strategic financial decisions that drive business growth and innovation. In this role, you will have responsibility to provide financial oversight to the Digital Energy Business (comprised of:  (Digital Buildings, Digital Power, and Microgrid)) in the US, as a trusted business partner to the management teams and by ensuring governance is in place

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

You will:

• Be the Finance Business Partner for the Digital Energy Business in the US and the main Point of Contact for Digital Energy Global Division

• Support and challenge Business Partners to optimize short- and long-term financial performance (Growth, Profitability, and Cash Management)in alignment with established strategy

• Maintain and improve the financial processes for accurate financial planning and control, including Project Controlling using Percentage of completion accounting, straight line revenue recognition.

• Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarizerecommendations for financial plans. Perform economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements

• Have the ownership for the SE Buildings America Balance Sheet: Partnership with the SEBA accounting team to ensure provisions and accruals are accurate and aligned with company policy

• Be a Trade Working Capital champion: Work with the direct business to improve process and accuracy with billing, down payments, mobilization. Partnership with the collections group to improve collection to drive down bad debt reserve

• As a member of the US Commercial Controlling leadership, drive transversal initiatives to share best practices. Including, but not limited to, ERP implementations, ERP enhancements, digital initiations, and acquisition due diligence and implementation

• Lead a team of direct reports and develop talent for current and future responsibilities

• Ensure Internal Controls and adequate accounting practices are in place

 

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $208,000 - $312,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting
  • At least 8+ years of work experience in finance and 5+ years in a leadership role in Business Finance
  • Experience in project controlling 
  • Experience with global, enterprise financial systems (Hyperion, Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.) and familiarity with SQL and Tableau
  • Industry/business acumen (Construction market / Building Automation, Fire & Security Industries) is an asset
  • People Management experience
  • Business Finance experience
  • Business Partnering experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills including, team leading and employee training, influencing & convincing
  • Demonstrates knowledge of commonly used accounting and information technology concepts, practices and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
