Main Purpose of the Business Development Manager
Reporting to the Head of Sales - USA, the Business Development Manager will lead the pursuit of profitable, sustainable growth across the region by proactively identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities.
This position calls for a commercially astute, results‑oriented professional who can manage the full sales cycle - from lead generation and prospecting through to pitching, negotiation, and closing. The role requires strong market awareness, the ability to uncover untapped opportunities, and the capability to build strategic relationships while delivering tailored solutions aligned with customer needs and company objectives.
In close collaboration with the Regional Operations and Finance Managers, the Business Development Manager will ensure that all new business initiatives are commercially viable, operationally feasible, and aligned with broader corporate growth strategies. The successful candidate will enhance the company’s market presence, deepen customer engagement, and uphold our reputation for Best‑in‑Class service within the aerospace logistics sector.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager – Aerospace Logistics;
- Drive profitable and sustainable growth by proactively creating, identifying, and converting new business opportunities within the region, acting as a true deal closer who can deliver measurable results.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, leveraging industry networks, market intelligence, and strategic outreach to generate high-quality leads and long-term partnerships.
- Secure and embed new business through effective stakeholder engagement and alignment across all stages of implementation and onboarding, ensuring seamless transitions and strong client retention.
- Lead the preparation and management of RFPs/RFQs, critically assessing commercial viability, opportunity, and risk to ensure a targeted, strategic, and winnable approach to new or expanded aerospace business.
- Identify and expand new sales channels and customer segments within the aerospace logistics market while contributing to the ongoing evolution of the company’s customer solutions offering.
- Maintaining accountability for business development performance, pipeline progression and strategic growth outcomes including opportunities to grow on existing accounts.
- Monitor account performance and spending trends, to identify declining business early, proactively reengaging clients and implementing recovery strategies to restore growth and interest.
- Collaborate with global Network teams to strengthen relationships across regions and reinforce the company’s leadership position in aerospace logistics.
- Monitor and analyse industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions, providing actionable insights and recommendations to drive informed, data-based decision-making.
- Partner with the Marketing team to elevate brand presence and visibility through targeted campaigns, events, and digital engagement that support lead generation and sales conversion.
To be Considered for the Business Development Manager – Aerospace Logistics:
- Extensive end-to-end solution sales experience within the aerospace logistics industry from lead generation and pipeline building through to client engagement, negotiation, and successful deal closure in a customer-facing, target-driven environment.
- Proven success in creating and converting new business opportunities, demonstrating initiative, industry insight, and persistence to build a high-quality, sustainable sales funnel.
- Strong closer with excellent negotiation and influencing skills, able to secure commercially beneficial outcomes that balance customer requirements with company objectives.
- Commercially astute and customer-focused, capable of designing and delivering tailored logistics solutions that drive operational and financial performance.
- Analytical and strategic thinker, able to interpret complex data, market trends, and customer metrics to shape winning sales strategies and business cases.
