Position Summary
Azalea Residential is seeking a tech-savvy Data & Analytics Business Analyst to design and deploy AI-powered automation solutions and advance our Power BI reporting infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a hands-on AI practitioner who can independently build agents, automated workflows, and prompt-driven tools — and who brings advanced Power BI skills and a solid foundation in business or data analysis. A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or closely related role is required; candidates with a demonstrable AI/automation portfolio will be strongly considered.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI & Business Intelligence
- Own, build, and maintain intermediate to advanced Power BI dashboards for portfolio-wide and property-level performance monitoring.
- Enforce data governance standards and integrate data from property management systems, financial platforms, and third-party sources into a unified BI environment.
- Automate recurring reporting workflows to reduce manual effort and improve delivery speed.
- Develop DAX measures, data models, and Power Query workflows to support complex financial and operational reporting – Required; proficiency will be assessed through skills-based testing.
- Design and publish Power BI paginated reports (RDL/PBIR) for scheduled print-ready financial and operational deliverables.
AI Automation & Process Improvement
- Identify inefficient workflows and design and deploy AI-driven solutions using automation platforms including Power Automate, Claude, Copilot Studio, n8n, and Zapier — spanning trigger-based flows, multi-step automations, and scheduled data pipelines.
- Independently design and deploy AI agents and multi-step automated workflows — including prompt engineering, tool/API chaining, and output formatting — to improve analytical efficiency, reduce manual reporting lift, and support decision-making across asset management and acquisitions.
- Evaluate and implement emerging AI/analytics technologies applicable to real estate data challenges — including LLM-assisted underwriting, lease abstraction, market research summarization, and property performance anomaly detection.
Financial Analysis, Acquisitions & Reporting
- Analyze property and portfolio financial data (revenue, expenses, occupancy, leasing trends); assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and forecasting.
- Support acquisition activities: prepare market surveys, competitive analyses, and initial Proforma documents through deal closing.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership; collaborate with asset managers and regional teams to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Apply prior analyst experience to independently scope reporting requirements, identify data gaps, and deliver insights with minimal supervision — translating business questions into structured analytical and automation workflows.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Information Systems, Finance, Business, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field required. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
Experience & Technical Skills
- 1–3 years of professional experience in a business analyst, data analyst, BI developer, or automation/AI specialist role required. Candidates with meaningful internship or project-based experience and a verifiable AI/automation portfolio will be considered.
- Power BI intermediate to advanced proficiency required (DAX, data modeling, Power Query) — proficiency will be assessed through skills-based testing.
- Advanced Excel: pivot tables, Power Query (M), XLOOKUP/dynamic arrays, financial modeling, and data manipulation.
- SQL and/or Python a plus; not required. Comfort with structured data and query logic is sufficient for most responsibilities in this role.
- Experience with Yardi and/or ERP/accounting platforms is a plus.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience building with AI/automation platforms is required — must show proficiency with two or more of the following: Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Claude (Anthropic), n8n, Zapier, LangChain, or comparable agent/workflow platforms. Experience with prompt engineering, API integrations, or AI agent orchestration is strongly preferred. A portfolio, GitHub, or live demo of prior automation work is a significant differentiator.
- Internship, capstone project, or independent work in BI, AI automation, agent development, or systems integration is a plus — portfolio or live demo of automation work is a significant differentiator during the interview process.
Core Competencies
- Exceptional attention to detail — accuracy is non-negotiable; skills-based testing is part of the interview process.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset.
- AI-native mindset: comfort experimenting with new LLMs, agent frameworks, and automation tools; ability to evaluate AI output critically, identify failure modes, and build reliable, auditable automated processes.
What We Offer
- Structured onboarding, mentorship, and dedicated budget for AI and BI certifications — including Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Google AI Essentials, Anthropic Claude certification, and others.
- Hybrid / remote-friendly environment with immediate, hands-on access to a modern AI and BI stack — including Power BI, Copilot Studio, Claude, Power Automate, and n8n — from day one.
- An amazing benefits package.
