Overview

We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Functional Business Analyst on a 1-year contract. This role is primarily remote, with a preference for candidates located in New Jersey who can attend occasional onsite meetings.

This is a functional, business-facing role—we are not seeking a Salesforce Administrator or highly technical developer profile. The ideal candidate excels at working across multiple business functions, translating needs into requirements, and driving alignment between stakeholders and delivery teams.

You will play a key role in bridging business and technology, improving processes, and supporting the successful delivery of Salesforce and enterprise system enhancements.


Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Cross-Functional Collaboration (70%)

  • Partner with stakeholders across multiple business units to understand processes, pain points, and opportunities
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews
  • Translate business needs into:
  • User stories & acceptance criteria
  • Functional requirements & use cases
  • Process flows, swim-lane diagrams, and wireframes
  • Document current (AS-IS) and future state (TO-BE) processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendor partners to define solutions
  • Act as a liaison between business users, product teams, and technical teams
  • Provide guidance on best practices and user experience improvements

Testing & Delivery Support (20%)

  • Partner with development and QA teams to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Facilitate and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Ensure solutions align with business needs and expectations

Team Support (5%)

  • Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to other team members

Additional Responsibilities (5%)

  • Support additional initiatives and projects as needed


Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Functional Business Analyst (not admin/developer-focused)
  • Strong track record of collaborating across multiple business functions
  • Experience gathering and documenting B2B, customer-centric requirements
  • Expertise in creating:
  • Business requirements and functional specifications
  • User stories, workflows, and process diagrams
  • Wireframes and UI/UX concepts
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and full SDLC
  • Hands-on experience with Jira or similar tools
  • Experience documenting system integrations across enterprise platforms
  • Strong background in business process design and workflow analysis
  • Experience working with multiple data sources and ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud and/or Experience Cloud
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Lucidchart
  • Business Analysis certifications (e.g., CBAP)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business (IT focus), or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis and systems design
  • Proven success delivering medium to large-scale enterprise projects
  • Experience in B2B environments (manufacturing, construction, or similar industries preferred)
