Job Summary
The Business Analyst supports the financial and operational success of project-based work. This is a contract-2-hire opportunity (6 months) Hybrid potential once established.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary owner of project financials, overseeing financial and business aspects across products, services, and support, and assisting teams in meeting project objectives.
- Prepare project order intake calculations and establish and maintain project work breakdown structures to ensure accurate financial and operational tracking.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on project performance by defining and reviewing key metrics and performance indicators.
- Review month‑end Sales and Orders Reports to ensure financial accuracy, including validating cost allocations, confirming completion of customer invoicing, and ensuring proper license revenue release.
- Review and approve vendor invoices in alignment with company policies, excluding contractor invoices managed by the Financial Analyst.
- Process accurate customer billings for project milestones and support timely invoicing through regular financial and project updates.
- Prepare and distribute the Consulting Accounts Receivable Report, monitor outstanding receivables, and facilitate recurring review meetings with Project Managers and Department Heads to drive collections.
- Monitor customer and vendor payments to ensure accurate application, timely follow‑up, and alignment with project financial goals.
- Collect, validate, and process employee time submissions, uploading finalized time data into SAP for payroll, costing, and financial reporting purposes.
- Create, maintain, and update project records in SAP and related systems, including project setup, updates, maintenance, and closure.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Broad understanding of project controlling, accounting, finance, and contract management.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple projects and collaborating with multiple Project Managers within cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems, with SAP preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with emphasis on advanced Excel skills.
Education and Experience Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher, in finance, accounting, business, industrial engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of three years of experience in a project‑based environment with responsibilities in controlling and analytics
