Business Analyst - Compliance Technology

Our Client a well known Investment Bank is seeking a


Role Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Technical Business Analyst within a Compliance, Legal & Technology team, supporting enterprise compliance initiatives
  • Lead requirements elicitation with Compliance stakeholders, capturing complex business processes, regulatory obligations, and control requirements
  • Produce high-quality Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and supporting artifacts documenting end-to-end workflows, business logic, data flows, system dependencies, and regulatory controls
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Architecture teams to translate business and compliance requirements into well-designed technical solutions
  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, workflow optimization, and automation across existing compliance systems
  • Provide strong technical analysis, including assessment of system integrations, upstream/downstream impacts, and data sourcing considerations
  • Perform minimal project management and delivery oversight responsibilities, including prioritization for offshore and onshore resources, issue escalation, and cross-team coordination
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, ensuring user stories are clearly defined, testable, and aligned with regulatory expectations
  • Support Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defining test scenarios, reviewing results, executing targeted tests, and providing business sign-off
  • Partner with development teams to perform QA, triage defects, support root cause analysis, and validate remediation prior to release
  • Ensure full traceability across regulatory requirements, business requirements, technical design, testing, and release approvals
  • Contribute to audit support, regulatory inquiries, and compliance validation efforts as needed
  • Take on expanded responsibilities across other Central Compliance initiatives as the role evolves

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably within financial services
  • Strong technical background with ability to analyze systems, data, and workflows; programming experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in databases, including writing and executing SQL queries
  • Strong data analysis skills with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience working with external vendors, including coordination with management and support teams
  • Comfortable accessing Windows and Linux servers and interpreting application/system logs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and Agile methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Prior experience with compliance and governance platforms (e.g., Comply, Cornerstone)
  • Familiarity with API integrations and working with technical teams on system connectivity
  • Exposure to security awareness or compliance tools such as KnowBe4
  • Experience supporting compliance, legal, or regulatory technology functions
