SUMMARY
Under the direction of the supervisor, the Bulletin Editor Coordinator will be responsible to research, write, proofread, and edit parish bulletin content. The responsibilities include producing the monthly newsletter, fact-checking writers’ articles and optimizing written pieces. This position ensures that all parish communications, print and digital, are clear, cohesive, and professionally presented, supporting parish growth while reducing internal stress through reliable systems and deadlines.
This role has authority to manage communication deadlines and standardize submission processes across parish ministries.
DIMENSIONS: St. Mary Magdalen Parish more than 2,700 registered and participating families and 6,000 individuals serving the Altamonte Springs, FL area. We are a stewardship parish whose ministries include praise & worship, a Pre-K to grade 8 school with daycare, adult daycare center, life-long faith formation, family ministry, Hispanic ministry and Corporal Works of Mercy ministries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for the preparation of parish bulletin with the pastor’s approval.
· Writes, designs, and releases weekly newsletters to parishioners as directed by supervisor.
· Reviews, proofreads, and edits content for the news bulletin.
· Reports and publishes news events across all digital platforms.
· Sets publication standards.
· Sources, research, and verify stories on events before publishing.
· Defines strategies to promote presence for parish news bulletin.
· Develops cohesive content goals with the Pastor.
· Provides administrative and clerical support to the Front Desk of Parish office.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
CATHOLIC FAITH
Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field, supplemented by two (2) or more years’ relevant experience required. Experience with writing for various platforms including, print, video, radio, email, and experience with multi-tasking and juggling deadlines and priorities. Must have proficiency with technical/web skills to be able to create and publish content for the web. Bilingual in Spanish and English helpful.

· Knowledge of email marketing software.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for special events, meetings, travel, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and at weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar. You must be able to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (15 pounds).
