Building Engineer | San Antonio, TX
We are actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Building Engineer to collaborate closely with our property management team. This role involves implementing and upholding energy management strategies, preventive maintenance programs, quality standards, and operational goals for our esteemed third-party clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain all mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, lighting, and control systems.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure proper operation of systems.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests, ensuring problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of building operations, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
- Assist in managing building automation systems and energy management initiatives.
- Schedule and oversee work performed by outside contractors and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with contracts.
- Support and enforce safety standards and building codes compliance.
- Participate in budgeting and capital planning related to building systems.
- Provide on-call support for emergency repairs or issues outside of regular hours as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record required
- 3 to 5 years of hands on experience in commercial building engineering or facilities maintenance
- Experience supporting office, industrial, and retail properties preferred
- Prior experience within a third party property management environment strongly preferred
- Experience supporting multiple properties or sites simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to maintain service logs, equipment records, and inspection reports
- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, variable air volume systems, and rooftop units
- Working knowledge of electrical systems including panel maintenance, breaker operation, lighting systems, and basic troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems including domestic water systems, sump pumps, water heaters, and backflow prevention devices
- Familiarity with fire suppression and life safety systems including sprinkler inspection coordination, fire alarm panels, and emergency egress procedures
- Ability to navigate building automation and building management systems, monitor system performance, and make basic adjustments
- Experience executing and documenting preventative maintenance programs
- Basic carpentry, painting, and general building repair skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working at heights including ladders, rooftops, and elevated mechanical spaces
- Ability to work in confined spaces, mechanical rooms, and utility areas
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
- Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, and outdoor exposure
