GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Inspect, grade, adjust, and play test all wind instruments
  2. Adjusting and setting up all instruments to meet the “Play out of the Box” customer expectation
  3. Reporting on improvements to better the quality of the projects produced
  4. Inspect, grade, and adjust all trial and returned products
  5. Follow and uphold all processes and procedures to maintain the quality standards for cosmetics and instrument functionality
  6. Assisting the South facility in projects as well as reaching operational goals, and objective
  7. Assisting the Quality, Manufacturing, Product Development, and Engineering team with technical input

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Assess condition of instruments as received
  2. Perform adjustments to instruments in order to achieve the standard for each product
  3. Play test instruments
  4. Assist with packaging finished products for shipment or presentation to customer
  5. Assist other inspection responsibilities as necessary
  6. Assists in developing plans and procedures to improve inspections and setups
  7. Assists in raising overall performance of the team by assisting in training and sharing” tips and tricks” of the trade
  8. Accepts, rejects, or quarantines products to pre-established standards and protocols
  9. Flexibility to work in all areas of the facility as directed
  10. Other duties as assigned by the facility quality lead or facility manager

PRE-DETERMINED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Musical Instrument Repair experience (3+ years), BIRT School Certification/Diploma preferred
  2. Minimum Associates degree in Music, Music Education, or equivalent experience (Strong woodwind playing experience preferred)
  3. Extensive instrument repair knowledge, experience, and techniques
  4. Experience or understanding of working with small tools, measuring instruments or parts
  5. Proficient in the English language with excellent written and verbal communication ski
  6. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g.: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  7. Ability to work independently as a self-starter with an expectation for positive results
  8. A willingness to learn and thrive as part of a dynamic team of experts

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to walk and/or stand for majority of shift
  2. Vision correctable to 20/20
  3. Ability to safely lift to 40 pounds unassisted
  4. Ability to perform repetitive work for a prolonged period
  5. Exposure to manufacturing environment including dust, noise, and vibration
  6. Frequent kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping, reaching, and pushing carts
