Montgomery County Public Libraries(MCPL) is seeking highly motivated, community-oriented and collaborative Senior Librarian to serve as Branch Supervisor to provide excellent customer service and equalized opportunity for Montgomery County residents. If you excel in the areas of communication, staff development and training, customer service and want to work in an innovative and inclusive environment, this is the job for you. OurSenior Librarianssupervise staff, serve as system trainers, and participate as members of planning and implementation workgroups.
MCPL Librarians perform a variety of professional programs and services reflective of, and responsive to community needs and assets. Librarians develop and deliver inclusive and equitable, community-led programs and services. These positions represent MCPL within the community, building collaborative relationships, programs, and services in partnership with community members and organizations. Librarians also help to manage MCPL materials to meet the educational, recreational and information needs of the community. These positions provide customers with basic technological and in-depth informational assistance.

Hours for this position are:
Library hours of operation are 7 days a week including evenings. Employees are expected to be available for work during these times. Individual schedules, including evenings and weekends, will vary based on branch operational needs.
Education:Master’s degree in library science or library information science from a college or university accredited by the American Library AssociationThe applications of those individuals meeting the minimum qualifications will be reviewed to determine the extent, relevancy of training, and experience in the following areas:
