A prestigious intellectual property-focused Am Law firm is seeking a Patent Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join its Washington, DC office. This role provides the opportunity to work on sophisticated patent prosecution, PTAB proceedings, and strategic counseling for clients in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries.
This partner-track position is ideal for attorneys with strong technical backgrounds who are eager to work on complex, innovation-driven matters while collaborating with a highly experienced IP team.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct patent prosecution and manage complex intellectual property portfolios
• Participate in PTAB proceedings and support patent disputes
• Provide strategic counseling to clients in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemical sectors
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and defend patent portfolios
• Analyze scientific and technical information to support patent applications and strategies

Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience as a Patent Associate Attorney or Intellectual Property Attorney
• Strong background in patent prosecution and IP law
• USPTO registration required
• Eligibility for admission to the DC Bar required
• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, or related field
• Wet lab or research experience preferred
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
