Job Description

Join our team as a BioMed Lab Technician - QC, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of laboratory operations. You will be responsible for managing specimens, performing non-licensed testing, and ensuring the highest standards of quality control in a biomedical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all specimens received and distributed from the laboratory.
  • Complete test request forms and enter information into the Laboratory Information System accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform specimen preparation for testing and archiving with high accuracy.
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens, file appropriate specimen rejection forms, and manage revision requests.
  • Perform non-licensed testing, interpret results, and prepare and distribute reports with high accuracy.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance reviews of the work area.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal customers by answering calls and assisting with requests.
  • Monitor written and electronic communication to the Biomedical Services regularly.
  • Maintain accurate and neat records, including archive and retrieval systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal guidelines related to handling human samples and shipping.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in quality control and quality assurance processes.
  • Familiarity with in-process and finished product testing.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and tissue processing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
  • Experience in an aseptic technique environment, specifically in medical lab sample processing and collection.
  • Experience in quality control or quality assurance is preferred.
Work Environment

This position is located in a biomedical manufacturing environment, working in both clean room laboratory and office settings. The shift schedule is Saturday to Tuesday, consisting of four 10-hour shifts per week, with hours from either 7am to 5pm or 6am to 4pm.

This is a Contract position based out of Alachua, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
