🧬 The Role

As a Bioinformatics Scientist, you’ll help build the engine powering this transformation. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role where you’ll:

  • Design and deploy high-performance bioinformatics pipelines that process thousands of samples daily
  • Develop novel algorithms to transform raw sequencing data into accurate, actionable insights
  • Integrate cutting-edge tools into scalable, production-ready workflows
  • Debug and optimize pipelines handling real-world biological complexity
  • Translate complex outputs into intuitive, user-friendly scientific experiences
  • Collaborate closely with a fast-moving, interdisciplinary team
  • Mentor peers while continuing to grow your own expertise

✅ Qualifications

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or related quantitative field
  • 3+ years building production-grade bioinformatics pipelines

Core expertise in at least one area:

  • Microbial genomics (assembly/metagenomics)
  • Variant calling / large-scale genomics
  • Bulk or single-cell RNA-seq

Technical experience:

  • Nextflow or Snakemake (production + cloud deployment)
  • Strong foundation in sequence analysis (alignment, assembly, etc.)
  • Experience with Illumina or Oxford Nanopore data
  • Python (NumPy, Pandas, BioPython, Jupyter)
  • Docker / containerization tools
  • Git-based workflows
  • Linux and production-level scripting
  • Large-scale genomic data processing

⭐ Nice to Have

  • Experience with C++, Rust, or other compiled languages
  • Interest in scientific data visualization / UX
  • Wet lab biology experience
  • History of developing novel bioinformatics methods
