Job Title: BIM Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled BIM Specialist to manage 3D and 2D models of electrical systems for large-scale construction projects. You will oversee model population, clash detection, and model extraction, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications, standards, and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Model electrical systems including raceway modeling, circuiting, and equipment setting using Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
  • Create 3D models from existing 2D CAD plans as required.
  • Develop detailed and accurate drawings, documents, and models using BIM and/or CAD software programs.
  • Produce accurate building models and drawing sets using engineering, detailing, and field markups.
  • Review drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications, standards, and codes.
  • Apply learned knowledge of rules, regulations, and client detail design specifications to drafting.
  • Ensure all drawings and models follow established standards and procedures.
  • Set up plot sheets, sections, and details for projects.
  • Plot and export field points to be used with a total station.
  • Lead and participate in coordination meetings to communicate model updates, identify clashes, and resolve design and constructability issues.
  • Maintain model documentation, including project specifications, standards, and as-built records.
  • Generate detailed build documents for construction and prefabrication.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of standards, templates, and libraries.
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure models are practical for installation and address real-world challenges.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to integrate design intent with field layout and prefabrication planning.
  • Provide technical support to field personnel, answering questions and troubleshooting model-related issues.
  • Assist in training internal teams on BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and other relevant platforms.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM 360.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and clash detection.
  • Ability to create detailed and accurate drawings and models.
  • Strong understanding of construction document standards and architectural design principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in BIM, CAD modeling, or related fields within the construction or electrical industry.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kaukauna, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
