BIM Coordinator/Drafter

Position Overview

Jansons Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Mid-Level BIM Coordinator / Drafter to join our team in East Rutherford, NJ. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing and modeling our highly specialized chimney and exhaust stack systems. You will bridge the gap between engineering concepts and field execution, utilizing advanced 3D modeling software to ensure seamless, clash-free installations on high-profile infrastructure and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling & Detailing: Generate detailed, accurate 3D models and fabrication drawings for specialized chimney and exhaust systems using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Spatial Coordination & Clash Detection: Actively participate in spatial coordination and clash detection meetings using Navisworks and Revizto alongside general contractors, structural engineers, and MEP trade partners.
• Data Management: Utilize Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for model hosting, document control, and cross-team collaboration.
• Standard Enforcement: Assist in maintaining and enforcing company BIM standards and template consistency across all assigned projects.
• Field Support: Translate complex coordinates and layouts into clear, actionable field installation drawings for our construction crews.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in BIM coordination or mechanical drafting, preferably within the MEP, HVAC, or specialty structural steel sectors.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revizto, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is strongly preferred.
• Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of MEP spatial coordination, architectural drawing interpretation, and structural constraints.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively advocate for Jansons' design space during multi-trade coordination meetings.
