Medical Billing Manager
📍 Location: Mesa, AZ 85210 (Fully Onsite)
💰 Salary: $80,000–$95,000/year
🕒 Schedule: Full-time, Exempt
(Primarily weekday business hours with flexibility for month-end, weekend, or holiday support as needed)
We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Medical Billing Manager to lead a high-performing Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team in Mesa, AZ. This is more than a traditional billing leadership role — it’s an opportunity to drive operational transformation, mentor a team of professionals, and modernize billing workflows in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
In this role, you’ll oversee the full billing lifecycle for emergency and non-emergency medical transport markets while helping shape a culture centered on accountability, innovation, and patient-focused financial support.
🔎 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 billing specialists, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
- Oversee daily billing workflows including documentation review, coding, and claims submission to maximize efficiency and First Pass Accuracy
- Monitor critical KPIs such as backlog volume, turnaround times, productivity, and coding quality
- Identify operational inefficiencies and partner with transformation teams to implement automation and process improvements
- Drive clean claim initiatives and insurance discovery efforts to reduce revenue leakage
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Insurance Relations, Patient Experience, and Operations teams to resolve denials and optimize workflows
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS regulations, ICD-10/ICD-9 standards, and internal policies
- Support a culture shift toward modern, data-driven operations and leadership development
✅ Required Qualifications
- Strong background in Revenue Cycle Management, medical billing, or healthcare operations within a high-volume environment
- Previous people leadership experience or proven success as a Senior Biller or Supervisor
- Experience using billing systems and payer portals (such as Logis or similar platforms)
- Ability to analyze dashboards, productivity metrics, and operational data to drive team performance

- EMS/Ambulance billing experience, including 911 or Inter-Facility Transport (IFT) workflows
- Experience implementing automation or technology enhancements within billing operations
