Please note: The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $70,556 to $103,428, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Office of the Director, Latino Health Initiative, is recruiting for an enthusiastic and talented individual for Program Specialist II to join our team. We’re seeking a collaborative and community-focused professional with experience in health promotion, curriculum or training development, and community engagement with multicultural and multilingual populations. This position supports the goals of the Latino Health Initiative by leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of community health programs and activities that promote wellness and reduce health disparities among Latino communities in Montgomery County.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of annual work plans for various LHI programs/activities.
  • Lead the development of educational and training protocols and educational/information materials
  • Coordinate the collection, analysis and reporting of program key indicators and program evaluation and prepare reports
  • Managing program budgets and contract monitoring
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders and practicum sites
  • Represent the LHI in relevant communities a the local and state levels
  • Support the development of grant proposals
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Work Schedule: Some program activities, community events, or outreach sessions may take place during evening or weekend hours.


Telework: This position may be eligible for limited hybrid telework, up to two days per week after the initial training period.

Experience:Two (2) years of professional experience in health promotion program development, implementation and evaluation.


Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.


Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.


Medical Protocol: This position requires completion of a pre-employment Medical History Form to assess your ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.

  • Experience developing educational materials or curricula for minority or multilingual populations.
  • Experience coordinating program indicators, data collection, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Experience developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations or practicum sites.
  • Experience supporting the development of grant proposals, including narrative, work plan, budget, or data components.
