A food manufacturing company is seeking a Bilingual English/Spanish HR Specialist to join their team in Garden Grove, CA. This position supports Human Resources by serving as the bridge between employees and management and handles worker’s compensation cases, leaves of absence, and employee-relations matters. A bachelor's degree, 2-3 years of HR experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to speak/read/write Spanish are required. This is a full-time, Hybrid work, non-exempt position with excellent benefits and 401k.
Bilingual English/Spanish HR Specialist Duties
-Manages worker's compensation claims from case filing to closure
- Manages employee leaves of absence (FMLA, PDL, CFRA, etc.)
-Conducts investigations into employee relations matters
-Leads monthly Production/HR meetings regarding employee relations matters
- Assists with investigations as a member of Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP)
- Assists the department and company in maintaining legal compliance by keeping up to date on federal and state laws, as well as company policies (webinars, trainings, etc.)
- Updates company documents as needed based on changing laws and regulations
-Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential
-Assists with administration of disciplinary/counseling actions, and terminations as needed
-Acts as an interpreter for Spanish-speaking employees as needed
-Translates documents from Spanish to English and vice versa as needed
- Answers company phone/door and provides general support to callers and visitors as needed
Bilingual English/Spanish HR Specialist Skills
-Must have bachelors degree or higher
-Must speak/read/write Spanish
-Must have 2-3 years of HR experience
-Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
