BGCGTC 2026 Summer Intern - Fort Worth, TX

Description

Interns at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County play a valuable role in supporting our mission to serve youth and families across our community. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds who are eager to contribute their time, skills, and dedication while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience in a nonprofit setting.

To be considered, applicants must first complete the Volunteer/Intern Application. After submitting the application, candidates will receive an email outlining the next steps in the onboarding process.

All interns are required to complete Youth Safety Training, provide references for a reference check, and successfully pass a background check. Instructions for completing the background check will be sent via email after the application is received.

Once these steps are completed, applicants will be invited to participate in a brief orientation, where they will learn more about Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, our programs, and expectations for working with youth.

This process ensures that every intern is prepared to contribute in a meaningful way while helping us maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for the young people we serve.

Requirements

Internship Objectives for Job Description:

• Orient the Student Leaders to the mission, vision, and values of the Employer Organization.
• Expose Student Leaders to a range of activities that comprise the overall work of the organization, including:

1. Board Leadership
2. Executive Leadership/Management Routines
3. Fundraising/Development/Budgeting
4. Volunteer Coordination
5. Program Execution

• Provide experience in the topics listed above through several methods, including job shadowing, attending staff meetings, interaction with senior staff, informational sessions, and specific projects or activities
• Involve the Student Leaders in substantive assignments that give them practical experience in the day-to-day operations of the organization
• Include activities designed to develop leadership skills
• Include the student leaders in staff meetings/job shadowing activities that involve senior staff
