Benchman needed in Northport!!
We are looking for someone who isreliable,teachable,and agood fit overall.

Pay Rate is $16.50/hr
1st Shift

Responsibilities:

• Shaping, smoothing, and polishing parts to meet specifications.
• Repairing saw blades, guides, knives, or other industrial tools.
• Using hand tools, grinders, torches, or machinery (e.g., stretcher rolls) to fix components.
• Visually inspecting finished products for defects and ensuring accuracy.
• Reading blueprints, sketches, and work orders to guide production.
• General cleaning and preventative maintenance of machines and area
• Work with a high sense of urgency
• Wear all required PPE
• Compliance with company policies and procedures in operating machinery, including first level troubleshooting and corrective action to ensure all processes remain within control parameters
• May be required to provide support to others Active participation in Lean and Safety Training Must cross-train to other positions as requested
• Other duties as assignedCompetencies

Requirements:

• Must accurately input data into ERP System Microsoft: Teams and email
• Requires 2+ years of manufacturing or production experience.
• Proficiency with hand tools (hammers, grinders) and measuring instruments like micrometers or calipers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for long periods.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand material properties.
• Cooperation & Teamwork -Able to work with people
• Able to provide solutions when encountering challenges
• Able to accomplish daily work requirements to meet customer demands
• Must be able to speak and read English
• Must be able to do basic math
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone or up to 100 pounds with lift assist
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail, a proactive work ethic, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a manufacturing environment

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to talk, utilize sensory skills, cognitive skills, and motor skills.
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Frequently lift, push, pull and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move objects up to 100 with lift assistance.
• Ability to work in an environment that is hot in the summertime, and cold in the wintertime Ability to stand/walk up to 10hrs per day
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
• Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• Drug screenings (pre-employment and random) and background check are required

Work Environment
Exposure to extreme weather temperatures and conditions may occur, along with fumes, noise and/or vibration. This position regularly operates standard office equipment, for example, computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines. At times, this position can be exposed to high noise levels. The employee may be exposed to machine fumes and airborne particles.
