Job Summary:

The Bell/Valet Attendant provides exceptional arrival and departure experiences through warm greetings, valet service, luggage assistance, and local expertise. Serve as a key point of guest interaction, supporting smooth operations in both front drive and lobby areas.

Job Duties and Functions:

  • Greet all guests warmly upon arrival and departure, offering prompt luggage assistance.
  • Hail taxis, answer guest inquiries, and provide directions or local recommendations.
  • Park and retrieve guest vehicles safely and efficiently, following all traffic and valet protocols.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the house car at all times.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, provide an overview of hotel features, and assist with check-in needs.
  • Assist with luggage handling at check-out and curbside departures.
  • Keep lobby areas tidy by removing trash and debris between housekeeping rounds.
  • Support Concierge services by offering general information and recommendations when needed.
  • Stay knowledgeable about local events, attractions, and dining to provide accurate guest guidance.
  • Submit lost & found items with completed reports per hotel procedures.
  • Function as a door person when required, ensuring smooth guest flow and vehicle access.
  • Maintain clear communication with the front desk regarding parked vehicles during PM shifts.
  • In emergency situations, assist in keeping the driveway clear for emergency vehicle access.
  • Deliver guest items (faxes, packages, flowers, etc.) promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure the guest arrival area remains clear and welcoming at all times.
  • Notify guests of package or vehicle arrivals and visitor notifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and security of the garage area, preventing unauthorized access.
  • Support other departments or take on additional tasks as needed, in line with a collaborative team spirit.
  • Performs other duties and attends meetings, as assigned by hotel/department leadership

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong adaptability to dynamic situations and a wide variety of guest personalities, with the ability to remain composed and courteous under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Clean driving record required with a valid drivers license; must be at least 26 years of age.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving luggage and other items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in tropical weather conditions, including high heat and humidity.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time during shift
