POSITION TITLE:                             Bell Captain 

DIVISION:                                           Hotel

DEPARTMENT:                                 Hotel Front Service, Hotel Tower IV Front Services, Parking/Valet

GRADE/FLSA STATUS:                  H9—Non-Exempt

BADGE TYPE/COLOR:                   Work Permit--Peach

REPORTS TO:                                   Supervisor, Front Service; Supervisor, Transportation

 

JOB SUMMARY:                               

Responsible for the dispersion of bell attendants and the day-to-day operation of the bell station.

 

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain proper Bell Staff rotation and accurately record services performed

  • Act as a lobby ambassador, both greeting and directing guests

  • Respond to guest service requests

  • Utilize LMS to verify inventory and locate guests

  • Ensure all Harrah’s Brand Service standards are met for Bell Service 

  • Act as a role model to their staff

  • Investigate and coordinate the recovery of lost, misplaced, or damaged luggage claims.

  • Ensure all arrangements are executed flawlessly for all Casino and VIP guests’ pre-registration and baggage handling

  • Maintain knowledge of the hotel, community, and special events to accurately provide guests with needed information

  • Execute all the duties of a front service attendant

  • Adhere to all regulatory, company, and department policies/procedures in an ethical manner

  • Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and Values   

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required 

  • Two years of experience in bell desk is preferred

  • Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/duties simultaneously under time constraints

  • Ability to logically and independently plan, organize, complete work, and take initiative

  • Ability to set and achieve high standards of performance

  • Receive instructions and hear inquiries from guests, clients, or staff

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills 

  • Excellent guest service/public relations skills

  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene

  • Demonstrated teamwork behaviors and attitudes

  • Self-starter; must work without close supervision

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • *Knowledge of LMS

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items

  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Must be able to work in a small, shared office space 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry 50 pounds 

  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality, including secondhand smoke

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
