POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION SPECIALIST
DISTRICT AGENCY CLASSROOMS
Intensive Needs Program

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification: Special Education, Social Work, Psychologist, or other related mental health field. ABA Therapy certification or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst given preference. It is required that candidates attach a PDF, or a screen shot of their certifications.Must have at least 4 years of experience in their certified area. Attendance teacher certification paired with the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst will also be an accepted certification. Strong working knowledge of behavioral theory and applied behavior analysis. Understand the characteristics and behaviors associated with disorders. Ability to apply behavioral principles and to handle intense emotional situations. Good communication skills both verbal and written. Knowledge and experience with implementing MTSS/PBIS model and systems. Experience with de-escalation techniques, trauma informed care, and restorative justice/circles. Must have the ability to perform the physical duties associated with this position.

JOB SUMMARY:
Position requires the planning, organization, and implementation of the appropriate program to address the social, emotional and behavioral learning needs of the students; to guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their potential in both curricular and extracurricular activities.
These Intensive Needs positions require specialized skills and training. As such, the salary schedule for Intensive Needs positions shall be four hundred dollars ($400) above the regular salary schedule.
Appointed Behavior Specialist to the Intensive Needs program will remain in place for a minimum of three (3) years.
Appointed staff will be required to participate in training in July and/or August at the contractual rate of pay.

Appointment will be made by the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials, and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
