(ABHS) DEPARTMENT – CLIENT SERVICES JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Job Type: Full Time/Hourly Reporting to: Supervisor Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Technician will be respons ible for providing support to clients with co- occurring disorders in a treatment facility. A successful BHT will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, and demonstr ate critical thinking skills. Responsibilities:  Monitor clients for chan ges in behavior and report to supervisor.  Implement social and coping sk ills activities for clients.  Maintain order and safety in the treatment facility.  Provide building security.  Respond to client needs and concerns.  Accurately convey client behavi or and status, intervention use, client response and client progress both verbally and in writing to clients, families, and members of the treatment team.  Observe client’s self-administration of medicat ions at their worksta tion as per facility policies and procedures.  Perform roll calls and hourly headcounts of clients.  Keep accurate and legible written log of ev ents that take place during the shift.  Enforce rules and regulations related to client activities and behavior.  Provide support and assistan ce to clients as needed.  Complete Progress Notes, Rule Violation, Incident Reports, and other paperwork as needed.  Participate in staff meetings a nd training sessions as required.  Maintain accurate STAT count on all clients in residence.  Ensure the accuracy of the Medica tion Administration Record (MAR).  Check all packages being brought into the building by anyone.  Check in medication upon delivery and place it on the MAR and inside the medication cart.  Ensure compliance with contractual obligati ons, facility policies, and State statutes. Qualifications:  High school graduate or equivalent and 2 years of releva nt experience in social work, nursing home, behavioral health, or hospital or an associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, social wor k, or related field.  Excellent communication and critical thinking skills. Physical Requirements:  Must be able to sit, stand, and walk.  Must be able to lift to 25 pounds.  Ability to use hands to fingers. Work Environment:  Moderate noise (business office with computers, printers, light traffic)  The work environment is a healthcare facility that may include exposure to infectious materials, hazardous substances, and odors.
