Job Summary:
Wesley Family Services is hiring candidates to serve clients in Westmoreland, Washington, Butler, and Allegheny counties. We will match candidates preferred travel areas to client need. This position requires working in homes and communities with children with Autism and/or Mental Health diagnoses.
Position is available full time or part time. Create your own schedule. Flexible schedule, but must be able to do some late afternoon/early evening hours.
The Behavioral Consultant (BC), in collaboration with other members of the treatment team, designs and directs the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan, which is individualized to each child/adolescent and to family needs. The Behavioral Consultant identifies behavioral goals and intervention techniques, and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods. While maintaining some direct contact with child and family, the BC primarily provides assessment, program design, and monitoring rather than direct therapy. When questions or conflict around behavioral paradigms arise in other systems, such as school or community, the BC may participate as a consultant in special child-centered, family-focused meetings along with the therapist.
The Mobile Therapist (MT) provides intensive therapeutic services to a child and family in settings other than a provider agency or office. The primary setting for services is expected to be the child’s home. Other potential settings for the MT’s services include the school, church, community center, a neighbor’s or extended family member’s home, and other community settings as appropriate. Services provided by an MT vary according to the individualized needs of a child and family.
The BC/MT may also provide clinical supervision of services provided by the Behavior Health Technician (BHT) and/or Behavior Consultant (BC).
