Our summer Beacon Prep program provides rising 8th graders who are close to being admissible to Beacon Academy with targeted academic enrichment, leadership development, and opportunities to build confidence and community. The Beacon Prep Summer Instructor & Program Lead is responsible for designing and delivering a 4-week summer curriculum, guiding students through daily activities in STEM, leadership, communication, advocacy, and teamwork. This position is also responsible for managing daily schedules for volunteers and interns. Planning for this role will take place during the month of June. Programming runs Monday through Thursday from July 7 to July 30. The program lead must be available from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM on days the program is in session.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Co-lead in the creation, design, and implementation of programs for Teens based on connected learning principles with special emphasis on 21st Century and social emotional skill development.
Develop and implement new programs and services to meet patron and community needs.
Serve as the lead for grant funded and other credit/stipend bearing Teen program administration.
Serve as lead instructor for upcoming Media Literacy in the Age of AI Course through ACN.
Create an inviting, fun, and safe environment for youth that inspires learning and creativity.
