Grow your career as Business Development Manager (BDM) for Chicago and Wisconsin within ALG Vacations. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for representing and driving sales growth for ALG Vacations brands, including Travel Impressions, Apple Vacations, Funjet Vacations, United Vacations, and Blue Sky Tours, across an assigned portfolio of travel agency partners. This role focuses on building strong, consultative partnerships with agencies and their Independent Contractors by providing strategic support, education, and mentorship to increase engagement, loyalty, and performance.

​The BDM will develop and execute territory strategies to identify growth opportunities, shift share from competitors, and drive incremental revenue and profitability. Working closely with the Regional Sales Director for the Midwest, the BDM aligns local initiatives with broader company growth strategies while serving as a consistent, trusted brand representative within the region.

Essential Functions:

  • ​​Develop strategic alliances with Illinois and Wisconsin agencies, and Independent Consultants. ​

  • ​​Leverage preferred relationships of Apple Leisure Group to gain commitment, incremental revenue growth with travel agencies.​

  • ​​Run reporting, analyze and provide feedback where needed to support the territory with carefully targeted strategies​.

  • ​​Schedule Virtual and in person meetings with agency partners, create agendas, follow up and action items.

  • ​​Create strategic ways to grow engagement and build trust in an effort to shift business to ALG Vacations among WI and IL Accounts.

  • ​​Increase and promote distribution through VAX advisor travel booking platform in line with established goals.

  • ​​Represent ALG Vacations at events where needed (and occasionally outside territory) to cultivate new business opportunities and gain new revenue commitments​.

  • ​​Achieve sales targets by managing region effectively, growing the opportunities for education and other effective ways to gain engagement among WI and IL Accounts​.

  • ​​Attend internal meetings where feedback and insight for accounts in this territory would be needed.

  • ​​Monitor competitive activities in the marketplace and provide feedback in reporting and in meetings​.

  • Attend Weekly team calls where needed, designed to make a strategic impact on growth and development of the accounts.

  • Administrative work to support the territory including but not limited to weekly BDM emails, updates on key webinars and policies, trainings, follow up on RSVP for events, and similar tasks to increase engagement.

  • Create specialized introductions and training for new to ALGV agencies assigned to this role to help increase faster engagement.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values.

Qualifications:

​​​​Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with degrees in business, marketing, communications or finance preferred.

  • ​​Two or more years of related experience in sales or the travel industry​.

  • Travel industry knowledge or experience preferred but will consider other candidates with transferable sales background.

  • MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, SalesForce

  • ​​Ability to travel both domestically and internationally by plane and car – 25%.

  • ​Data Analytics – must be able to understand reports and be able to interpret data to provide effective solutions.

  • ​Must have the ability to telecommute and be comfortable working independently.

  • ​Sales and customer service skills – necessary to be able to provide the best experience for advisors​.

The salary range for this position is $76,100-$90,000. This role is also eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan.

The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
