Position Overview

The Data Associate is responsible for the accurate setup, maintenance, and deletion of product and vendor data within the merchandising system database. This role supports master data governance by following established system guidelines and business rules to ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability across reporting and operational systems.

The Data Associate partners closely with Category Managers, Analysts, and store teams to resolve data issues, maintain system accuracy, and uphold data standards. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

What You’ll Do

Master Data Management & Data Integrity

  • Enter, maintain, and update vendor and item information in the merchandising system database

  • Ensure data accuracy prior to all additions, changes, and deletions

  • Validate and maintain database fields and hierarchies to preserve data quality across reporting

  • Follow established master data governance standards, system guidelines, and processing procedures

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of business rules and data standards

 

Auditing, Issue Resolution & Support

  • Audit data regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance with data standards

  • Respond to inquiries related to data integrity and system issues

  • Support store teams by researching reported data issues and determining corrective actions

  • Partner with Category Managers and Analysts to resolve data discrepancies

  • Identify, research, and recommend solutions for data‑related issues to leadership

 

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Minimum of 1 year of related data coordination and/or data entry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Master Data Governance experience preferred

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • General knowledge of office procedures

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy

  • Customer service mindset

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to meet daily production goals

  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast‑paced environment

  • This role is in-office with a full-time Monday-Friday work schedule
