BAS Field Engineer

  • Perform point-to-point checkout and verification of all equipment on assigned projects
  • Complete detailed checkout documentation, including all physical points and equipment locations
  • Verify hardware installation in accordance with project specifications and guidelines
  • Identify and document offsets, calibrations, issues, and system failures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with field devices, controllers, and system components
  • Escalate issues outside of scope via service tickets or to supervisors/technical support
  • Communicate daily with Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Supervisors on project status
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of completed work and system checkout progress
  • Document equipment tested, issues encountered, and resolutions
  • Record any job site challenges, including coordination issues with other trades
  • Ensure all documentation is clear, complete, and submitted consistently
  • Review and understand project scope, drawings, and specifications
  • Interpret submittals, mechanical plans, and control schematics
  • Track assigned hours and maintain productivity within project budgets
  • Identify potential change orders and communicate findings to leadership
  • Arrive on time and prepared for all job site assignments and meetings
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Follow company vehicle policies and maintain assigned equipment
  • Respond to calls and emails within 4 business hours
  • Adhere to all company and job site safety protocols


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HVAC Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in building automation, controls, or field engineering preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with BAS platforms such as: Johnson Controls, Automated Logic, Honeywell, Siemens
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Comfortable working in active job site environments
  • Willingness to travel locally
