BAS Account Manager

Location: Tampa, FL

Department: Building Automation Systems (BAS) Sales

Reports To: Sales Manager / Branch Manager

Position Summary

The BAS Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of Building Automation Systems, HVAC controls, energy management solutions, retrofits, and service agreements. This role develops and maintains relationships with building owners, facility managers, consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and end users while identifying opportunities for new installations, upgrades, and long-term service contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of BAS and controls accounts.
  • Generate new business opportunities through prospecting and networking.
  • Build relationships with facility directors, property managers, and consulting engineers.
  • Identify opportunities for:
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • HVAC controls upgrades
  • Energy management projects
  • Service and maintenance agreements
  • Retro-commissioning projects
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, and presentations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, and operations teams.
  • Negotiate contracts and close sales opportunities.
  • Track sales activity and maintain CRM records.
  • Achieve annual revenue and gross-margin targets.
  • Support project turnover and customer satisfaction after project award.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years of BAS, HVAC controls, or building technologies sales experience.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • HVAC systems
  • DDC controls
  • BACnet and networking concepts
  • Energy management solutions
  • Proven success managing customer relationships and growing accounts.
  • Experience estimating and presenting technical solutions.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the Tampa Bay market.

  • Experience with:
  • Distech Controls
  • Tridium Niagara 4
  • Johnson Controls
  • Siemens
  • Schneider Electric
  • Existing relationships with Tampa-area contractors, owners, and consulting engineers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field.

Compensation

Typical Tampa BAS Account Manager compensation:

  • Base salary: $90,000–$130,000
  • Commission and bonus potential
  • Vehicle allowance or company vehicle
