The Banquet Chef plays a key leadership role within Folktale Winery’s culinary team, executing exceptional food experiences for weddings, private events, and large-scale celebrations. This role is ideal for a passionate, hands-on chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is energized by creativity, collaboration, and delivering memorable guest experiences.
The Banquet Chef leads event execution from prep through service, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all culinary operations.
Requirements
- Lead all culinary execution for events, including weddings, private parties, and winery experiences
- Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items including proteins, seafood, vegetables, pizzas, and composed dishes
- Oversee food preparation, portioning, plating, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
- Collaborate with culinary leadership to develop seasonal and event-specific menus
- Create and manage weekly kitchen schedules in alignment with event needs
- Lead, coach, and support kitchen staff
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures for all kitchen operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
What We’re Looking For- 5+ years of professional culinary experience (banquet or high-volume experience preferred)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven environment with changing priorities
- Passion for seasonal, high-quality ingredients and creative menu execution
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays
