The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Lab Services provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for system-wide laboratory operations, including clinical laboratories, pathology services, and specialized diagnostic programs. The AVP ensures high-reliability operations, clinical quality, regulatory compliance, fiscal stewardship, and an exceptional service experience for patients, providers, and internal partners. This role serves as a key advisor to senior executives, collaborates closely with physician partners, and advances system strategies related to access, technology modernization, workforce planning, and operational efficiency across all lab service lines.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field (e.g. Biology or Chemistry).

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in clinical laboratory operations within a large, integrated healthcare system or reference laboratory.

  • Proven success in leading multi-site, high-volume core laboratory operations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, process improvement, and strategic project implementation.

  • Experience managing large operational budgets and vendor contracts.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) by ASCP or Diplomate on Laboratory Management by ASCP or equivalent.
