We are a growing medical device company that is seeking a Senior Automation Controls Engineer to design and deploy advanced automation solutions in a high-volume production environment. This role is responsible for building custom automated systems, integrating data collection and Industry 4.0 capabilities, and driving operational efficiency across the full equipment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement automation solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams
- Lead design, installation, and validation of custom automated equipment
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, robotics, and machine vision
- Develop data collection systems, SCADA/IoT integrations, and real-time performance reporting
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Support equipment upgrades, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Create and maintain technical documentation and validation deliverables (IQ/OQ/PQ)
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in automation, controls, or robotics engineering
- Strong PLC/HMI programming and industrial communications experience (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, etc.)
- Experience with system integration, motion control, and manufacturing automation
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally
Preferred:
- 7+ years of experience in automation/controls
- Experience with robotics, machine vision, and SCADA systems
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0, IoT, and data-driven manufacturing
- Background in regulated environments and safety standards
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, or related)
The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 plus bonus. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
