Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Yokogawa DCS / SCADA / PLC Engineer to support the design, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of industrial automation systems for manufacturing and process operations. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Yokogawa Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA platforms, PLC programming, and industrial communication networks in a continuous process manufacturing environment.

This role supports plant reliability, operational excellence, safety, cybersecurity, and process improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Yokogawa DCS systems including CENTUM VP, FAST/TOOLS, or related platforms.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain PLC logic, HMI graphics, and SCADA applications.
  • Support plant operations by responding to automation and controls issues in a timely manner.
  • Execute automation projects including system upgrades, migrations, loop tuning, and control strategy improvements.
  • Develop and maintain control narratives, cause & effect matrices, P&IDs, functional design specifications, and loop drawings.
  • Perform FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and validation activities for automation systems.
  • Configure industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, OPC, Profibus, and Foundation Fieldbus.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, process engineering, and E&I teams to improve plant reliability and performance.
  • Support alarm management, historian systems, and data integration initiatives.
  • Maintain system backups, cybersecurity compliance, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Participate in MOC (Management of Change), PSSR, HAZOP, and process safety activities.
  • Provide technical support during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency troubleshooting.
  • Develop preventive maintenance strategies for automation hardware and software.
  • Train operations and maintenance personnel on automation system functionality and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives including AI, analytics, and smart manufacturing applications.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum [5+] years of experience in industrial automation and process control engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Yokogawa DCS systems such as CENTUM VP.
  • Experience with PLC systems such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or Mitsubishi.
  • Experience with SCADA/HMI systems and industrial networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of ISA standards, PSM requirements, and industrial cybersecurity practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and control narratives.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to support off-hours troubleshooting when required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor chemical, specialty chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, or continuous manufacturing industries.
  • Experience with batch process automation and recipe management.
  • Familiarity with OPC UA, SQL databases, historians, and MES integration.
  • Knowledge of virtualization, server infrastructure, and network architecture.
  • Experience with SIL systems and functional safety standards (IEC 61511).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ISA certification preferred.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment: This role may require business travel to remote manufacturing sites (less than 20%), and the candidate should be prepared to adhere to strict cleanliness and contamination control protocols at the manufacturing sites.
  • Physical Requirements: The role may involve standing for extended periods, working with high-pressure systems, and handling hazardous chemicals under safe conditions.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
