The Auto Accounting Specialist II is responsible for preparing and processing State and Local refunds, hot checks, chargebacks, and related documentation required by auditors. This role also supports customers and branch staff via phone and email regarding these transactions. Additional responsibilities include reconciling branch transactions related to titles and registration, and ensuring all necessary backup documentation is collected and properly maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and process State and Local refunds, hot checks, chargebacks, and redeemed checks by reviewing and organizing relevant documentation.
Reconcile assigned bank accounts by verifying registration and title transactions from designated branches against bank deposits.
Review refund applications to ensure accurate calculations and proper recipient allocation, based on title and registration receipts and packages.
Organize and separate title-related paperwork received from branches for scanning and final distribution.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding refunds or returned payments via phone and email.
Maintain weekly and monthly reports summarizing returned items, redeems, and dishonored check sales tax for submission to TxDMV.
Update ACH templates for Chase by validating dealer submissions for accuracy and eligibility through WebDealer.
Contribute to process improvements by identifying workflow efficiencies, collaborating across teams, resolving recurring issues, and promoting best practices.
Other assigned duties.

Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience within an office environment with heavy data entry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
Strong attendance and punctuality record.
