Job Description (JD)_Audio-Video (A-V) Subject Matter Expert (SME):

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, maintain, and distribute the master project installation schedule.
  • Direct progress meetings, capture all action items, and distribute meeting minutes to the designated government team.
  • Responsible for the technical discovery, space mapping, regulatory compliance, and master blueprint drafting for the conferencing spaces.
  • Translate physical room constraints into approved engineering layouts and compiles the structural Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Perform detailed field surveys and physical site verifications to gather exact architectural measurements.
  • Create and submit final technical installation and electrical drawings in standard PDF format rendered at an exact scale.
  • Map all electrical requirements, data drops, and signal paths to pass along to the building’s General Contractor for hardwire execution.
  • Build a comprehensive, itemized BOM detailed down to the specific manufacturer part number, product line, and unit price.
  • Receive and cross-verify all incoming hardware shipments against billing invoices.
  • Unload freight deliveries and inspect all items for physical damage within a strict framework to trigger immediate remediation orders.
  • Safely wrap, pack, and secure the custom Planar wall modules and delicate ceiling array hardware for one building to another.
  • Deploy building protection materials, including durable runners, corner guards, and padding, to prevent scuffs or damage to floors or structural drywall.
  • Enforce clear circulation pathways and remove all shipping boxes, foam, debris, and trash off-site daily using non-facility dumpster receptacles.
  • Engineer all layouts to strictly comply with federal and municipal codes, including ADA, Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), ICT accessibility standard, NIST, NESC, FCC, and FISMA.
  • Lead the physical teardown, rigging, cabling infrastructure, and precision structural mounting of all contract components across both designated facilities.
  • Ensure that physical deployments meet stringent safety metrics and aesthetic guidelines.
  • Execute the safe uninstallation and structural decommissioning of the custom Planar Video wall, Extron speakers, and Shure mic arrays from one facility to another.
  • Procure, cut, and secure appropriate wall backer boards to meet structural testing regulations for safe display attachment.
  • Securely mount 23 commercial monitors (ranging from 65" to 85") to wall surfaces at approved mounting heights using VESA-compliant hardware brackets.
  • Rig and anchor Logitech Rally Mic Pods using pendant ceiling mounts, positioning them to optimize voice capture across room floorplans.
  • Pull, terminate, test, and conceal all system low-voltage cabling inside walls and raceways, executing clean wire management so zero cables are visible to room occupants.
  • Responsible for configuring, programming, commissioning, and system tuning across all newly procured and relocated hardware lines.
  • Ensure that complex legacy audio arrays and advanced multi-display architectures integrate seamlessly into a cohesive, uncompromised end-user environment.
  • Program and integrate the high-end Planar Modular Video Wall into Conference Room, aligning it with the newly deployed Logitech Rally Bar system.
  • Perform audio DSP tuning, beamforming zone mapping, and signal routing for the 6 relocated Shure MXA910W Ceiling Array Microphones across rooms.
  • Interface, program, and tune the 12 relocated Extron FF220T Flat Field Speakers to establish balanced room-wide frequency responses matching the primary video bars.
  • Configure display profiles, EDID management, self-diagnostics, HDMI-ARC communication, and automated power-saving or real-time clock triggers on all TV monitors.
  • Provide testing metrics to hand over to the Customer for final Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) configuration on the NUC compute engines.
  • Formulate and update an ongoing punch list organized by manufacturer, lead the post-installation walk-through, and finalize the official Client Acceptance Document.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Education/Experience:

o   Technical Trade Certification with 5+ years of physical field installation experience handling commercial structural rigging and AV hardware.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering is preferred, with 5+ years of dedicated AV engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience deploying complex enterprise AV networks, digital signal processors (DSPs), and video matrix walls.
  • Experience managing federal AV infrastructure or construction initiatives.
  • Certifications:
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) preferred.
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist - Design (CTS-D) is highly desirable.

o   Shure MXA/Audio Network Certification,

o   Extron AV Associate or Configurator, and Crestron/Q-SYS certifications.
