Mid-level Associate position in the San Diego area. Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight is an award-winning national law firm with offices in La Jolla, New York, Washington, D.C., Nashville, and Palo Alto. The firm is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its burgeoning, 13 person ERISA and Financial Services Litigation practice to litigate high level, multi-million class cases against some of the largest companies in America.

You will be expected to:

• Have strong communication skills
• Conduct legal research and support development of case strategy
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, mediation statements, and trial briefs
• Supervise associate-level lawyers in doing the same
• Participate in mediations
• Appear in court for hearings, motions, and trials
• Manage deadlines, filings, and input billing ethically and efficiently
• Collaborate with lawyers across our offices and work to achieve success
• Maintain a social media presence

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: We offer a competitive lock-step salary ranging from $135,000 - $180,000 annually based on years out of law school, plus discretionary bonuses

This role is primarily in-office (La Jolla) with some hybrid flexibility.

A minimum 3 years of litigation experience in the federal courts is required. Having experience in managing ERISA class action cases and a litigation team is preferred. Having experience with financial products and services are valued.
