- Manage all aspects of the agency’s construction projects from conception to closeout by ensuring the completion of existing projects and coordination of upcoming projects.
- Collaborate frequently with District Managers, field staff, various state and federal agencies, and other authorities having jurisdiction for project execution.
- Design a wide variety of projects from campgrounds and visitor centers to boat docks, bank stabilization, water and wastewater systems, and various other outdoor recreation projects.
- Provide oversight to architects and engineers.
- Coordinate the construction procurement process for varying construction delivery methods from advertisement to contracting.
- Assist in the development of facility plans for agency assets. Support the agency by attending the State Building Commission and the State Parks and Cultural Resources Commission quarterly meetings.
PREFERENCES:Preference may be given to applicants with a Professional Engineering License, or five (5) or more years in Construction Management.
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge, skills, concepts, principles, and professional disciplines of engineering, architecture, construction, and project management.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and procedures for purchasing, bid letting, contract writing, and contract awarding.
- Knowledge of ADA Standards, accessibility guidelines for outdoor recreation areas, various building codes, industry standards, construction quality control, and cost estimating.
- Skills in budget management and fiscal controls.
- Skills in project management, negotiation, consensus-building, problem resolution, and interpersonal relationships with agency staff, management, public, and private industry personnel.
- Ability to multi-task under minimal supervision.
- Ability to express conceptual ideas through sketches, drawings, and the use of computer-aided drafting software.

- Statewide travel is required.

- This is an At-Will hourly position. The successful applicant will be offered a contract for up to two (2) years.
