Introduction
Our client is a privately owned small animal hospital that provides care for cats, dogs, and a variety of exotic species, including birds, fowl, lizards, snakes, rabbits, and guinea pigs. While experience with exotics is not required, veterinarians with an interest in this area are welcome to participate in the caseload or develop their skills further.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm and is closed on weekends. Veterinarians typically work a consistent four-day week averaging 38 hours, with the same day off each week. There are no evening shifts, weekends, or on-call duties, and all emergency cases are referred to local ER clinics. Appointments are scheduled between 15-45 minutes depending on the case. The hospital offers flexibility for either full-time or part-time schedules, with part-time positions requiring a minimum of two days per week.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This is a full-service general practice role where the successful candidate will provide comprehensive veterinary care across wellness, internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery. The hospital can accommodate a regular surgical schedule averaging one day per week, but they are equally supportive of veterinarians who prefer a non-surgical focus or those seeking a heavier surgical caseload. The role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with a structured mentorship program available to support early career development.

The hospital operates from a spacious 14,000 sqft facility featuring separate cat and dog waiting areas, a dedicated cat treatment room, and 10 exam rooms including a comfort room. The hospital uses ezyVet for its electronic medical records. All staff members are FearFree certified, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to creating a calm and positive experience for patients. As a full-service general practice, they provide a wide range of services including surgery (including orthopedics), dentistry, wellness care, internal medicine, and acupuncture. Veterinarians interested in introducing new services are fully supported.
