About the Role
The Associate Sustainable Materials Manager will support the development and execution of sustainable material traceability across our global supply chain. This role is critical as we launch a new organically certified brand requiring rigorous compliance with global sustainability standards, including GOTS certification. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex, SKU-intensive documentation processes in a fast-paced environment.
How You'll Contribute
• Collect, verify, and maintain GOTS certificates across all tiers of the supply chain to ensure full organic cotton traceability.
• Manage Supima cotton traceability using the TextileGenesis platform.
• Oversee recycled material compliance, including understanding GRS/RCS certification standards and collecting and validating GRS/RCS Transaction Certificates (TCs) upon material arrival at factories.
• Trace supplier chains for Responsible Down Standard (RDS) materials.
• Maintain familiarity with Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) membership and sourcing principles.
• Ensure adherence to FTC Green Guides and support internal compliance with greenwashing regulations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure sustainability claims are accurate and substantiated.
• Collect, organize, and maintain transaction certificates and related documentation for a high-volume, SKU-intensive product line.
• Develop and maintain systems for efficient storage, retrieval, and audit readiness of compliance records.
• Support audit preparation and responses related to sustainability certifications.
What You Bring to the Team
• 3+ years of experience in sustainability, compliance, supply chain traceability, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of GOTS, GRS/RCS, RDS, BCI, and FTC Green Guides.
• Experience with TextileGenesis or similar traceability platforms preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt in a fast-moving environment.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a lean team structure with high accountability.
